چکیده

Quick removal and low therapeutic efficacy are drawbacks of ocular eye drops. In situ gels were developed using gellan gum and/or sodium carboxymethyl cellulose as an ion activated polymer to enhance the residence time drug on surface improve through sustained release acyclovir. The solution containing converted gel cross-linking reaction with Ca++ present in simulated tear fluid. optimized formulation (F1 GC: 0.5 % gum+0.5 cellulose) showed immediate gelation (within 5 s) that remained for more than 6 h may prevent elimination by tears. formulations clear pH range 6.05 7.84. interaction between carboxyl group polymers ions was confirmed Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. All satisfactory content from 91.13-100.61 %. strength increased concentration increased. prepared exhibited a shear thinning pseudoplastic behaviour help blinking eye. Polymeric ocular nanosuspension for controlled release of acyclovir: in vitro release and ocular distribution

The aim of this study is to formulate a novel ophthalmic nanosuspension (ONS), an alternative carrier system to traditional colloidal carriers for controlled release (CR) of acyclovir (ACV). In the present study, ONS is employed to avoid some of major disadvantages of colloidal carriers systems such as instability in cul de sac and short half life by increasing efficiency of drug encapsulation ...

تهیه و ارزیابی فراورده چشمی ژل شونده در محل دیکلوفناک سدیم

Background and purpose: In ocular delivery the physiological constraints imposed by the protective mechanisms of the eye lead to low absorption of drugs, resulting in a short duration of the therapeutic effect. Thus using in-situ gelling systems could increase the residence time of the drug in the eye. These systems are instilled as drops into the eye and undergo a sol-to-gel transition in the ...

Formulation and In-vitro Characterization of Sustained Release Matrix Type Ocular Timolol Maleate Mini-Tablet

The purpose of this study was preparation and evaluation of sustained release matrix type ocular mini-tablets of timolol maleate, as a potential formulation for the treatment of Glaucoma. Following the initial studies on timolol maleate powder, it was formulated into ocular mini-tablets. The polymers investigated in this study included cellulose derivatives (HEC, CMC, EC) and Carbopol971P. Mann...
